Cricket is just a game to the rest of the world, but in India and among Indians, it is a form of religion that they revere. Most Indians have a superstitious attitude towards this game. Even Bollywood celebrities have personal superstitions that they strictly adhere to in order to ensure that their favorite team wins the match. Many actors own IPL teams and work hard, admitting that they are superstitious about the sport. Even celebrities who do not own a team but enjoy a good game of cricket are frequently seen praying for their favorite teams.

    Amitabh Bachchan

Amitabh Bachchan is very superstitious about cricket. He is a superstar; he attempted to commentate on India’s first World Cup match in 2015 and even sang the national anthem against Pakistan in the T20 World Cup. He is extremely nervous before a match in which the Indian cricket team is playing. So, Amitabh Bachchan believes India will lose the match if he watches it live. So, despite his love of the game and passion for the team, Big B forgets to watch live matches. He is certain that if he does not watch the match, India will win. As a result, he waits until the final ball is bowled before turning on the television.

His superstitions don’t just apply to the Indian cricket team. Bachchan also supports the Mumbai Indians during the IPL, but he does not watch live matches.

Abhishek Bachchan Jr. is as superstitious about the Indian cricket team as his father. When he watches India play, he doesn’t change his posture. This pose that Abhishek has to sit in is quite uncomfortable, but he makes sure to keep it throughout the match. Bachchan Jr. even has a special chair for this. He must sit on it in a specific posture for India to win the match; otherwise, the team is doomed.

    What do cricketers think?

Famous cricketers, too, believe in a variety of interesting, bizarre, and silly superstitions.

Sachin Tendulkar, the cricket god. When he was younger, he had a bat and had good luck with it. He repaired that bat ahead of the 2011 World Cup; winning the World Cup was his dream! He also thinks that putting on the left pad before the right pad will bring him luck.

If you are also a strong believer in your favorite cricket team, then you can take advantage of betting games online and bolster your interest in watching matches.

Guys, use a handkerchief. At least three famous cricket players believed in the power of handkerchiefs. Zaheer Khan had a lucky yellow handkerchief that he always carried in the field. Mohinder Amarnath rose to prominence after taking India’s final wicket to win the 1983 World Cup. Throughout his playing career, he kept his lucky red handkerchief in his pocket. Steve Waugh also has a red handkerchief given to him by his grandmother, which has brought him good luck. He always kept a red handkerchief in his pocket on the pitch.

Sehwag. He doesn’t need any number to catch good luck. When Sehwag was on the field, he never wore a number on his jersey. That was his talisman.

Suryakumar Yadav. He is not superstitious, but his mother is. “She was always asking what color would suit my child. Depending on that, the car’s colors changed. Even the color of the clock was changing. She does not participate in my cricket but uses her puja to control external factors.”

Rohit Sharma. He carries three small talismans. He usually drinks coffee before heading to the pitch. He feels lucky when he calls his wife, so he does so before each match. Furthermore, he always enters the field with his right foot forward.

Shubhman Gill. He stated that he feels he will score more runs if he uses the bat of his colleague Gurkirat Maan. Shubhman during IPL 2022 told this to the fans in a chat room.

    Conclusion

Due to the popularity of cricket in India, we can safely say that a large community of people has formed who are united by one hobby, and who also have certain customs and traditions. This makes a great contribution to the development of the country’s culture.
